Nassau Hall was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1961. Nassau Hall is the symbol and vital center of an illustrious educational enterprise. The bronze tigers flanking the front steps were designed by the sculptor, A. P. Proctor. The tiger has been Princeton’s mascot since the early 1880s.
